Food & Beverage Managers

The quality of everything related to food and drinks ultimately falls on the shoulders of the Food
and Beverage Manager. They ensure that everyone that works with food and drinks is following the guidelines that have been established by the cruise company.

A Food and Beverage Manager is responsible to ensure that all of the restaurants and bars, including that of the passengers, officers, and crew, are clean and that the food is well presented – during and after each meal. They also:

  • Make sure that all equipment is operating properly.
  • Ensure that personnel know how to properly use the equipment properly.
  • Keeps the costs of the department within budget.
  • Ensures that proper ordering procedures are followed.

The requirements of a Food and Beverage Manager position include being familiar with food and beverage products by having worked in that department for at least six years. A Degree in Management is necessary, along with at least three years of management experience. They also need to speak excellent English and be familiar with computers.
