This position may also be called: Cruise Sales Consultant
The primary task of a Cruise Consultant is to sell tickets of future cruises to passengers while they are on a cruise. In order to do so, they need to be highly visible and help ensure that the passengers have a pleasant cruise experience. This means that they will need to be present at most of the guest activities so that they can mingle with passengers and get to know them.
They will also need to have strong public speaking abilities because you will be making presentations to large audiences and explain about upcoming cruises and the onboard sales program. You will also help to escort shore tours that involve sales, and act as host or hostess at tables for returning passengers and at guest parties.
Being able to use a computer is another requirement, because there will be sales reports to fill out, voyage reports, and more. Experience is required in a six-star luxury environment, sales skills, and possible Travel Agency experience. A Cruise Consultant must be fluent in English, and any additional languages are preferable.
