When passengers come on a cruise ship, they expect everything to be all they dreamed of – which includes a ship with sharp looking staff, clean rooms, and crisp white linens on the bed. Housekeeping typically works behind the scenes on a ship, but they are responsible to maintain its clean appearance and keep the passengers happy.

There are a number of staff members in the housekeeping department, which also includes the bell staff. The staff positions that you will usually find in this department include:
Some of these positions, such as Cabin Steward, Bell Staff, and Laundry Man, are positions that do not have any pre-requisites. Some cruise lines will expect previous experience, and others will not. You can apply for these positions through a cruise line’s concessionaire, and it may be a good way to get started working on a cruise ship. You can expect long days, however, which is true of most positions on a cruise ship.
