A common feature of cruises is to have a lecturer come on the cruise and provide several lectures on a topic of interest to some of the passengers. Lectures are pretty standard on cruises now, so those who can provide interesting and quality lectures are in demand.
Special Interest Lecturers need to be experts in some topic that is rather popular. This may include subjects such as computers, archeology, health, finance, identity theft, culture, science, arts and crafts, and much more. Other special interest speakers may be accepted because they are:
- Medical doctors
- Celebrities
- Professionals of some kind
