Motorman

In order to maintain the best performance out of a cruise ship’s engines, they have to be well-maintained. It is the job of the Motorman to keep the engines wiped down and clean.

The Motorman is often assigned a specific engine part or parts. This is apt to occur if the Motorman has received specialized training. They are also responsible to make sure the engine parts are in good-working order.

In order to qualify, a candidate for Motorman needs to have diploma from a maritime training school. They will also need to have a minimum of one-year experience in an engine room. In addition, they also need to have good English.
