Tell us a little about yourself.
I am 29 years old and live in Colorado. Before Colorado I lived in New York City. I went to the University of Delaware and I received a degree in geography and minored in Latin American Studies. While in college, I worked at a hotel down the Jersey shore as a restaurant server. After college, I moved to New York City and began working at my first hotel job.
What made you want to work in the hotel industry?
I had studied abroad in Costa Rica while I was in college. My friend thought of me when a sales assistant position became available at Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica. Before then, I had never thought of the hospitality industry even though I had worked at a hotel during my summers in between college. I always thought it as a job, not a potential career.
What related experience did you have prior to being hired for your first position?
Prior to bring hired; I had worked in advertising sales for a local penny saver in New Jersey.
What hotel do you currently work for?
I currently work for Hotel Jerome, An Auberge Resort in Aspen, Colorado.
Approximately, how many employees does the hotel employee?
I am not certain, but my guess would be that the hotel employees about 130 full-time employees.
What is your job title?
My job title is Group Sales Manager.
When did you first learn about your current position?
I first heard about this opportunity through my fiancĂ© who also works in the hospitality industry. I then followed up, and found the job posting on the company’s website.
