Clippers are extremely tall, 4-masted sailing ships designed with an eye for elegance, but more specifically, for speedy travel. They were a common sight during the 19th century.

Star Clippers' ships were constructed to recreate these nostalgic vessels, but with modern technology and conveniences.

Most voyages are seven-day trips. Passengers participate in navigational activities and operation of the sails and rigging while on board. Free water sports programs for guests include banana boating, snorkeling, sunfish sailing, water skiing, and windsurfing. SCUBA diving is available to passengers for an additional fee.

Job Description:
Employees work ten months on, two months off. The two months vacation is unpaid, and employees are not guaranteed they will have a job after their time off.
 

Contract Length: Officers, 4-6 months; other crew, 10 months
 

Benefits/Bonuses:
Employees are covered by P&I insurance while on board.
 

Special Requirements:
Because of the nature of Star Clipper's ships, employees for Star Clippers are more likely to be required to have knowledge of ocean-going skills than at most other cruise lines. Because of their international customers, applicants should be able to speak English, German, and French.
